We all dream of a league of West Broms

It would be an offence under the Trade Descriptions Act to call what happened on Saturday evening a football match, cause it quite clearly wasn't.

And so much for being a one man team. I barely noticed that a certain Mr. Gerrard wasn't playing. The only thing I missed was a red streak running from one end of the pitch to the other several dozen times over the ninety minutes. Other than that, we did what we've done to most teams this season; dominated them before putting them out of their misery.

To be honest, when I heard the statistic that we'd lost our last three games when Stevie hadn't started, I did start to worry. Not that that lasted long. About 6 minutes in fact, when the Streetmap of Surbiton played a delightful cross for God to ensure he became the fifth highest goalscorer in LFC history. And once The Streetmap made a monkey out of Paul Robinson (playing much like his namesake would in an outfield position) for the second time, it really was game over.

The next 52 minutes were nothing more than an extended training session for anyone in red and much like last week, for all the effort and commitment of the opposition there was little or no sign of quality to ever trouble what is arguably the best defensive partnership in the league. Zoltan Gera did show why he's been linked with us, with a couple of good efforts but nothing that was ever likely to trouble Reina aka The Hood. Better players have beaten him this season, and none are likely to find themselves in the blue and white of The Baggies anytime soon.

So, what have we learnt? That God, Crouch & The Streetmap could make a potent striking force if played in the right setup on a regular basis. That we still need a proven, quality right winger. And that on the basis of this, we wont be making many visits to The Hawthorns for the foreseeable future...
